Jogjakarta Community School (JCS) welcomes applications from dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic professionals, both teachers and support staff, to join our successful team.

We are a small and growing school with an excellent staff-student ratio. The school operates from Pre-school 1 to Year 13, and has started planning for Post 16 studies. The design of the school enables both outdoor and indoor learning, and our green field site is a wonderful learning environment for our children. We follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales and lessons are delivered in English. Our older students prepare themselves for the Cambridge International General Certificates in Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations.

Jogjakarta is a thriving and vibrant city in the centre of Java. Known as a special region, the city is rich with culture and diversity. Located between the mountains and the ocean, with the Sultan’s Palace at the centre, Jogja is not far from the World Heritage sites of Borobudur and Prambanan. Job Description
We are looking to appoint an inspirational team teacher to join the Primary Classroom. This is a superb opportunity for an experienced or aspiring world-class teacher to join our successful and growing school community. A team teacher should be a forward-looking person committed to providing quality education and who should have the highest possible expectations for all students. He/she must assume the responsibilities of teaching classes according to the British National Curriculum. The education and welfare of pupils should be consistent with the philosophy embodied within the school’s vision, the School Improvement Plan and the appropriate departmental objectives. Phase leadership opportunities would be available for the right candidate.

About the person
The successful candidate will have an excellent ability to meet their individual needs through the Primary curriculum. The person must be able:

  • To develop and support each child’s individual experiences and ideas based upon their own personal circumstance.
  • To provide a peaceful and interesting learning environment where each child can feel safe and relaxed.
  • To promote the joy of learning, encouraging curiosity, creativity and imagination, forming a positive foundation that will grow with each child throughout their entire education and beyond.

About the School
JCS was founded in 2012 and is a small, not-for-profit school serving students from around the world. It encourages children to be lifelong learners and be globally and environmentally aware of the world in which they live. The school is governed by a voluntary board and is supported by an enthusiastic parent community.
